Working in healthcare can be challenging, yet extremely rewarding. Healthcare is needed worldwide, so your skills will be highly desirable wherever you choose to work. You could find yourself working within the NHS (one of the largest employers of apprentices), as well as in private care or work in the community.

Apprenticeships in healthcare are primarily work-based meaning you’ll undertake most if not all of your training on-the-job. Depending on your prior experience, the level of the apprenticeship and industry you will work in, your apprenticeship will last up to two years. You can then choose to progress onto higher courses.

There are over 350+ careers in the healthcare sector including...

  • Care work
  • Complementary therapies
  • Dentistry
  • Nursing
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Social work
  • Support functions (engineers, administrators, HR professionals and managers).
