KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • To ensure that planned and breakdown maintenance and repair work to manufacturing and site service equipment is carried out to a high standard.
  • Responsible for the timely resolution of manufacturing and site services breakdown issues as communicated either verbally or in writing.
  • To communicate and record relevant information regarding repair and maintenance activity performed on manufacturing and site service equipment.
  • To carry out improvement and optimisation work on equipment and materials as part of ongoing development of site capability
  • Assist in the creation of site Engineering SOP's
  • Effective repair and maintenance of all electrical and electronic equipment on site.

KEY RESULT AREAS

  • To minimise equipment downtime.
  • Ensuring that maintenance plans and records are kept up to date.
  • Rapid and trouble-free machine installations, moving and decommissioning.
  • To carry out safety checks on equipment as per site and legislation requirements.
  • To gain a thorough understanding of the operation, set-up and maintenance procedures on production and site service equipment.
  • Carry out trials and record results as required
  • Creation of engineering SOP's in-line with site standards

KEY SKILLS/ TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Able to maintain and repair manufacturing and site service equipment to a high standard.
  • Multi skilled to cover mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Able to work on both high and low voltage electrical circuits. Trained to 16th Edition Regulations.
  • Able to liaise effectively with production personnel to establish priorities in the event of breakdowns.
  • Able to gain a thorough understanding of the operation, set-up and maintenance procedures on production and site service equipment.
  • To source spare parts whilst ensuring competitive costs.
  • To liaise with colleagues, suppliers, contractors and others as appropriate to enable installation, maintenance, repairs and decommissioning work to be carried out efficiently with the minimum of disruption.
  • Able to train others in the operation, set-up and maintenance of machines and equipment.
  • Able to work under own initiative and prioritise workload accordingly.
  • Computer skills - competent in the use of Excel, Word and email.

You will report into the Engineering Supervisor on days who will also act as your mentor and support. The successful candidate will be able to work on their own initiative, possess a willingness to learn new things and be able to demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills.

No previous stores experience is required as this will form part of apprenticeship programme. Full training will be given for the right candidate.

Applicants will be required to attend an Assessment Centre with Vision Apprentices as part of the screening process.
