With over 20 Years of commercial picture framing and display experience Custom Frames offer a dedicated service mainly to business and corporate sectors.
Our 4,000 square feet workshop is equipped to handle any project and our expert staff are always on hand to give professional help and advice. As we are client lead, we are extremely adaptable providing framing solutions to any challenge from concept through to installation.

Our client base is made of International Hotel Groups, Large Corporate Organizations, Health Trusts, Fire and Police services as well as small to medium sized businesses.

  • Assisting qualified picture framers with day to day projects.
  • These duties will also include maintenance of the workshop and machinery,
  • Packaging/crating and despatching of goods.
  • Managing goods inwards and taking receipt of materials.

In addition to this we will teach the following.

Items listed would not be necessarily be in this order

  • Conservation Framing /materials used/archival mounting etc.
  • Computerised mount cutting
  • Introduction to specialist glass types, acrylic glazing and cutting
  • Using a vertical glass cutter
  • Using a pneumatic under-pinner
  • Conservation framing of garments
  • Framing large 3D items such as sports memorabilia
  • Commercial canvas and fabric stretching
  • Commercial Dry-Mounting (pressure sensitive /heat)
  • Using security fittings
  • Working in natural wood, staining/waxing finishing
  • Cutting and joining wood, polymer and aluminium mouldings
  • Maintenance of equipment
  • Measuring accurately
  • Cutting sheet materials
  • Using power tools (fixed and hand)
  • Use of computers for stock control
  • Learning various methods of framing differing items and assembly
  • Dealing with some high value items
  • Occasional off-site installation work
  • Paint spraying
  • Use of air tools.
  • Fitting in with a small friendly team.

Pay reviews will be carried out on regular basis

Applicants will be required to attend an Assessment Centre with Vision Apprentices as part of the screening process.
