Carwood Motor Units Ltd was established as a local automotive parts business based in Coventry in August 1966, since then it has grown steadily both organically and by strategic acquisition into one of the European leaders in its specialised fields. The Company's main areas of expertise are in remanufacturing, technical services and logistics. The company focuses on diesel fuel injection, electrical, electronic, HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) and turbocharger systems for all types of vehicles, ranging from passenger cars to cable cars, from trucks to trains, from earth movers to people carriers and from battle tanks to buses.

Help support the introduction of new processes and standards, ensuring that all remanufactured products follow the agreed quality process in the most efficient way, whilst complying with Health & Safety and Environmental legislation.

Help diagnose and report on, warranty returns for both turbochargers and electrical related products.

Help with the creation of technical documents and supporting records (WI, SAS, CTQ, FTI) for new and existing products covering both electrical and turbo.

  • To work closely with and help support the Quality Engineering Manager in solving customers technical problems.
  • To learn how to produce engineering drawing using the Spaceclaim 3D CAD system.
  • To support Quality Assurance activities such as monitor, test, inspect and audit products to ensure conformity to the required specification.
  • To help in the creation of Work Instructions/Strip and Survey/Critical to Quality/ Final Test and inspection
  • To help in reporting on warranty Turbos, documenting faults along with photo evidence.
  • To help in the completion of various PPAP requirements such as FMEA's and Control Plans.
  • To help manage other QMS elements such as Calibration, Measuring & Monitoring and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Support all activities associated with maintaining product quality in accordance with the requirements of both the company and customer requirements, focusing on continual improvements.
  • Carry out duties and other Ad-Hoc reasonable requests made by higher Management as and when required.

Requirement/Experience/Competence/Qualifications:

  • Good written, numerical and verbal communication skills.
  • Have good attention to detail and some problem-solving skills.
  • Well organised and has pride in their own work and able to work as part of a team.
  • Use MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint).
  • Preferably with experience in using basic machinery i.e. lathes and milling machines etc...
  • Displays a good attitude towards work and the aims and objectives of the business.

Applicants will be required to attend an Assessment Centre with Vision Apprentices as part of the screening process.
