Forest Medical have two surgeries, the main site being Rosemary Street Health Centre near Mansfield Town and a small branch site situated on the Oak Tree Lane Estate. They look after the healthcare needs of nearly 15,500 patients and now require two enthusiastic people to join them as apprentices working in both an administrative and receptionist role. The role will be diverse and fast paced and may lead to a permanent position.

The ideal candidates will be someone with an interest in IT and good communication skills who is hard working and willing to learn and who will also be a good team player and happy to work in a pressurised environment occasionally dealing with demanding patients.

You will be assigned a mentor for both the reception and administrative parts of your role, your mentor will ensure you receive a high level of ongoing training to increase your knowledge and skill.

Your main duties will include:

  • Answering the telephone and dealing with enquiries and booking/cancellation appointment
  • Front desk duties such as greeting patients and dealing with enquiries
  • Filing, scanning, photocopying and faxing
  • Issuing medication from repeat templates
  • Taking accurate messages
  • Managing correspondence
  • Inputting and extracting information from internal systems
  • General Admin Duties
  • Contacting patients on the recall data base (eg. Patients who may require a medication review etc)
  • Reporting to the Practice Manager

Applicants will be required to attend an Assessment Centre with Vision Apprentices as part of the screening process.
