The Copper Beech in Bilsthorpe is the heart of the local community, it has recently been taken over by Nicola and Andy and they are keen to ensure that they deliver a first class service to all visitors, the aim is to be the place to eat in the local area and head chef Jo is keen to deliver a seasonal menu using the freshest, local produce. Jo is keen to support an apprentice skilling them in all areas of food production and menu creation.

The Copper Beech is a small, friendly team that work together to ensure its high standards are met. If you are 18 or over, keen to learn and want to feel part of the Copper Beech family you will be made very welcome.

You will receive full training in all areas; some duties may depend upon competency and confidence

  • Assisting in all areas of food production including meat and vegetable preparation and cooking, baking and dessert making.
  • Maintaining kitchen work areas in accordance with HACCP regulations
  • Ensuring all kitchen equipment is in good working order and reporting faults to the Head Chef
  • Quality checking food deliveries
  • Ordering, Stock Control and Rotation
  • Ensuring Allergen guidelines are adhered to
  • Seasonal menu planning
  • Taking temperatures of food and equipment and completing kitchen documentation

Applicants will be required to attend an Assessment Centre with Vision Apprentices as part of the screening process.
