Medical Equipment Management Department (Memd) operates within an 800 bedded Trust employing some 3,200 staff. It provides a wide range of medical equipment management services looking after some 20,000 medical devices valued at £35 million.

The overriding purpose is to support the provision and upkeep of the medical equipment management service and contribute towards the highest quality patient care through personal actions and continuous improvement.

The MEMD have an exciting vacancy for an apprentice business administrator. This is a career path opportunity for the right candidate, your aim will be to deliver a confident, professional, friendly and efficient receptionist service providing clerical support within the reception area and across the MEMD Department, working under the supervision of the admin supervisor and department manager.

You will have support within the company and will be working towards Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in business administration. Below are some of the main points of the role.

  • To act as first point of contact for visitors to the department
  • To provide a high quality reception service, dealing effectively with enquiries
  • Diary Management
  • To provide basic administrative and clerical support within the department
  • Telephone and face to face contact with all members of the trust
  • Maintaining information systems under the supervision of the line manager
  • Producing emails, letters and meeting minutes
  • To carry out photocopying, filing, diary management, sorting out and dispatching of mail
  • Day to day enquiries related to the general running of the department
  • Producing purchase orders
  • Factoring of invoices once trained
  • Supporting the delivery of equipment across the hospital site
  • General administration and team support

It is expected that strict observation is maintained at all times of confidentiality of all information concerning patients

Applicants will be required to attend an Assessment Centre with Vision Apprentices as part of the screening process.
