Royal Warrant holders Dacrylate Paints is seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious apprentice to join their Operations Team. Dacrylate research, develop, manufacture and distribute high-quality coatings to a wide range of sectors and customers.

Our Operations Team is dedicated to producing high-quality products as well as looking at ways to continually improve our manufacturing techniques. Both of these elements contribute to helping us to efficiently and effectively satisfy customer requirements, build long-lasting customer partnerships as well as achieve business objectives. We emphasise personal service, communication, co-ordination and a team approach to problem solving.

This is a full-time role (7.00am to 3.30pm, Monday to Thursday and Friday (07:00am-2:30pm) and you will be working as part of our team in providing an excellent response to everyday production requirements.

You will also study for a nationally recognised qualification in Engineering during your apprenticeship.

You will…

  • Ensure that production operations are carried out efficiently and effectively, to satisfy customer requirements and business objectives.
  • Be responsible for monitoring machines during uptime and coordinate on-line, downtime. This will be carried out effectively and efficiently with concerns being addressed in a timely manner.
  • Weigh raw materials based on formulation requirements on Batch Cards to manufacture required products.
  • Monitor and report on raw material stock levels.
  • Manufacture milled paint products in accordance with Batch Card requirements, to produce products which meets quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Manufacture paint products in accordance with Batch Card requirements, to produce products which meets quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Fill products into specified container sizes in accordance with Filling Card requirements to satisfy customer requirements and comply with Trading Standards.
  • Carry out on-line quality assurance checks as specified on Batch Cards and Filling Cards to satisfy customer requirements and Trading Standards.
  • Perform changeover efficiently and effectively to optimise performance output, both in manufacturing and on filling vessels.
  • Perform routine mechanical maintenance on both manufacturing and filling machines, as specified on routine plans.
  • Carry out mechanical breakdown maintenance in the event of any failures.
  • Safe working environment by adhering to housekeeping systems and workings towards 5S processes in all areas.
  • Identify areas for improvement and work towards implementation of actions.

Applicants will be required to attend an Assessment Centre with Vision Apprentices as part of the screening process.
