Creative Steelwork are looking to recruit a Fabrication and Welding Apprentice to join their well-established company. We are looking for an enthusiastic, bright and eager apprentice to join an exciting business to learn many sides of Fabrication and Welding.

Established 14 years ago and moved into larger premises 4 year ago, Creative Steelwork is a small engineering company employing 10 people, providing steelwork products and services (from ladders, platforms, staircases, Portal frames to silos, chutes, and hoppers) to a range of sectors including construction, retail (front of house fittings); utilities (water) and telecoms, amongst others. The company is growing and has plans to grow further. We have secured CE marking approval to Execution Class 3 - also holds ISO9001.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Working alongside skilled fabricators on the shop floor.
  • Train to produce high quality bespoke equipment for a range of industries.
  • An opportunity to gains skills in all shop floor activities.
  • Help to maintain a high level of product finish to the end user.
  • Attend day release for college studies
  • Become valuable member of the Creative team

You'll develop your skills alongside experience platers and welders. You'll be taught and mentored on the shop floor with fabrication and welding of ferrous material. You will continue your studies with engineering industry specialists, West Notts College, in their state-of-the-art Engineering Centre. Giving you the training, you need to become an all-rounded and qualified fabricator.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Grade 4 and above - English & Maths

Preferred Skills

  • Basic understanding of Mechanical Engineering & Fabrication.
  • Effective Communication are essential.
  • Must enjoy problem solving and raising to a challenge.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and think on your feet.
  • String attention to detail.
  • Honest, reliable and committed - be confident enough to say when you're unsure and ask for advice as and when needed
  • Punctual

Applicants will be required to attend an Assessment Centre with Vision Apprentices as part of the screening process.
