Glenair are currently recruiting for a Quality Engineer Apprentice, to join their existing team in Mansfield. Glenair currently offers more than 30 unique, high-reliability interconnect technologies and product families. Our factories are organised in modular cells, each maintaining all the necessary capabilities to service their customers and markets with fast turnaround and outstanding technical support. Our in-house interconnect testing and product qualification laboratories manage design verification and standards compliance for application environments from inner space to outer space. Glenair's engineering team tackles everything from discrete interconnect component-part design to integrated systems, printed circuit boards, cable assemblies, as well as acceptance test requirements and assembly procedures. Glenair CNC machining facilities are the largest in the interconnect industry, with ample capacity for both small and large production runs. In-house clean room facilities for PCB and flex circuit fabrication as well as EMI/RFI filter array and opto-electronic system assembly distinguish Glenair from virtually every other supplier of high-performance interconnect solutions.

To become familiar with the detailed procedures as outlined in the company procedures.

Maintenance of work area in a controlled and tidy fashion

Use of the internet to find and research OEM product data and technologies.

File and archive any documentation both physically and in s/w as required by the local systems.

Time logging as appropriate to the local environment

To record and keep all relevant emails (sent or received) in a file structure that can be easily understood by a third party.

To maintain an electronic diary (outlook)

To at all times strive to maintain a current knowledge of all relevant engineering technologies application and manufacturing process pertinent to all of the product range.

Too strive to identify, and report on, any value added improvement to the processes and systems used in any process or system.

To lisaise with and provide support to all manufacturing departments, including the shop floor, in the implementation and commissioning of any product. This shall include direct assembly commissioning and or test/inspection work as required and the provision of jig tools and fixtures.

Essential Skills and Abilities

* Good Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude

* Ability to read assembly documentation such as drawings and work instructions

* Experienced in the safe use of hand and power tools

* Ability to work within a ‘team' environment

* Ability to work in a complex production environment

* Good interpersonal, verbal communication skills to explain general information and effectively communicate with peers and management

Applicants will be required to attend an Assessment Centre with Vision Apprentices as part of the screening process.
