Mi Casa Care is a care provider with a difference. They embrace innovation and person centred tailored care packages. Providing responsive person centred care to individuals in their own homes, Mi Casa Care works in partnership with Tunstall Healthcare to identify, provide and install assisted technology to enhance and support our care services keeping individuals as independent in their own homes as possible.

The main care services are - Responsive Care to provide a tailored package of care to individuals at short notice, Live in care - a carer living in the client's home with them to provide full time care and support, respite care to provide a break for carers or families, waking and sleeping nights.

Mi Casa's teams provide 24 Hour Rapid Response services responding to lifeline calls supporting individuals with non-injured falls and personal care as well as delivering efficient Home from Hospital support and after care until a suitable care package is sourced.

You will be buddied up for the duration of your apprenticeship allowing you to learn on the job, first hand from the professional and dedicated carers who support clients to stay in their own homes. Your buddy will be a driver which means that you do not need to be able to drive to apply for this position.

The purpose of this role is to ensure clients are supported and maintained safely in their own homes via the provision of personal care and household care management which is centred to each client. You will support an experienced and qualified member of the team.

Your principal responsibilities will be;

  • Ensure clients are visited as directed by their care plan and the care co-ordinator
  • To positively promote the clients right to choice and independence whilst ensuring they are treated with respect and dignity at all times.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, carers, families and colleagues.
  • Report any concerns regarding clients to management
  • Provide support and care to clients with a wide range of conditions, including dementia, life limiting conditions, physical disabilities and mental health issues
  • Assist clients with personal care needs as detailed in their care plan.
  • Assist clients with mobility issues and other physical disabilities including incontinence, using aids and personal equipment.
  • Safe disposal of waste in line with Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Provide meals and drinks as directed, assistance with feeding, preparation of food, reheating of pre made meals, clearing away and washing up.
  • You may be required to complete some household duties including, making/changing beds, tidying rooms, light cleaning, ironing, pet care etc.
  • Where appropriate, support clients with appointments or to access community based activities.
  • Provide support with medication, including administration, collection of prescriptions in line with company policy and procedures.
  • To maintain accurate, concise records of the clients care.
  • Ensure relevant paperwork is returned to the office in a timely fashion.

Applicants will be required to attend an Assessment Centre with Vision Apprentices as part of the screening process.
