The Appointment

West Nottinghamshire College is at the heart of its community and pledges to give every learner the chance to succeed.

Each year the college provides education and training to around 14,000 full time and part time learners (including apprentices).

This post is to work within the additional Learning Support Team. This team provides support to students who may need additional help during their studies due to a disability or a learning difficulty. Many learners may feel that a physical disability or a learning difficulty as a barrier to learning but with the help of our support team, they go on to enjoy a full and valued learning experience.

The Post

This a fantastic opportunity to learn all about the Additional Learning support provided within a college environment.

You'll work within a team and towards the goal of becoming an all-round support to this team.

You will quickly become the first point of contact for the team and will begin to understand the differing reasons behind contact to the team. You'll take effective messages for your colleagues and will ensure that they are delivered in the most appropriate way.

As your knowledge within the team grows, you will begin to answer general enquiries.

You will liaise with other departments within college with regard to learners, appointments, meetings, resources etc.

You will be encouraged to understand the funding associated to Additional Learning Support, to input this to various platforms and to run calculations and reports.

You will provide administrative support for your colleagues in the form of letter writing, admissions reports, booking reviews, booking assessments, running reports on learners awaiting assessment and those already assessed for reporting purposes.

You will work with the exams team to ensure that appropriate exams support is effectively organised and will conduct all administration in association to this requirement.
