Edsons is a family owned business specializing in high end residential bespoke joinery that have been trading continuously since 1885. All Edsons staff are time served craftsmen with many years' experience of producing high quality joinery and cabinetwork.

A unique opportunity has arisen for an apprentice to join our experienced workshop, as a fulltime apprentice bench joiner/cabinet maker, based at our premises in Calverton, Nottinghamshire.

There are no required qualifications and applicants do not ned to have previous work experience within manufacturing, as the successful candidate will be enrolled on an NVQ cabinet maker training course, alongside completing a 24 month in house training programme. That being said, candidates must have a keen attitude for learning, strive to be the best and possess a keen eye for detail.

Duties will include:

• Assist in manufacturing high quality cabinetry
• Learning to work with full construction drawings (3D and Inventor)
• Learning to use machinery and hand tools
• Working with all types of solid and sheet materials
• Training given in all departments of the business.

Candidate Specification:

Essential

• Interest in joinery/cabinet making
• Eager attitude for learning
• Keen eye for detail
• Good numeracy and literacy skills

• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Good problem-solving skills
• The ability to work alone as well as part of a team
• The ability to meet strict deadlines
• Good organisational skills
