POSITION IS BASED IN NEWTON GARDEN SITE NG13 8ZH Redrow Homes are looking for an individual who is passionate about bricklaying and other aspects of building to join as an apprentice Carpenter. The successful candidate will need to be physically fit for and have plenty of stamina for this demanding role.

Your time as a Trade Apprentice will be split between working on-site with an experienced tradesman learning from their years of expertise and college based study that will leave you with the essential industry qualification. It takes time to learn the quality and skills necessary to be the best and we are looking for candidates who are willing to commit the time needed to achieve the best.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Confirming to general health, safety and welfare in the workplace

Using a range of hand and power tools

Building studwork walls and staircases

Hanging doors

Pitching roofs

Wood finishing (to doors, windows and windowsills)

Fitting kitchens

Measuring, marking out, cutting, finishing, positioning and securing

Safely storing materials, without causing damage

Installing floor joist coverings

Fitting hinges

THE PERSON (Essential)

Excellent time keeping skills with the ability to work in adverse weather conditions

Wanting to go to a training provider and learn additional theory and practical within this trade

Maths and English grades at grade 2 (grade E+) or above or equivalent

Passionate about construction

Practical skills with the ability to take on instructions

Excellent communication skills , able to work in a team or on your own

Flexible approach to working on different sites

THE PERSON (Desirable)

A level 1 in Carpentry

Previous work experience as a carpenter

Previous experience within construction

Maths and English at grade 4 or above (Grade C+) or an equivalent

Driving license

Applicants will be required to attend an Assessment Centre with Vision Apprentices as part of the screening process.
